Eating gelato in Malta

Hi, I’m Dee.

I work full-time (true story) to make living at the weekend and holidays happen. Follow me for all things leisure and very long weekend.

Sup, mid-August

Sup, mid-August

It’s been a while so thought I’d use this template from Meet Me At Mikes to provide an overview of how life is at the moment.

Making - Photo books - I’m trying to use the COVID-19 time to put all my travel photos into proper books.
Cooking - Apple pies and gluten-free cake for family visitors for the first time in seven months!
Drinking - Lots of wine! I subscribe to Good Pair Days and get an amazing selection each month on my door step from all over the world.
Reading - Sagaland by Kari Gislason and Richard Fidler.
Wanting - Window shutters! I have no window coverings at the moment and I’m really jonesing for white plantation shutters… I’ve had them quoted and eek, they are not cheap. So my solution is to do nothing right now. Haha.
Looking - Yesterday my brother and I spent a couple of hours in the Camp Hill Antique Centre - it’s amazing! If you’re in the Brisbane area, I highly recommend a look.
Playing - Lots of podcasts at the moment, they’ve kind of piled up on me so I’ve been making my way through them while I potter around the house or drive in my car.
Watching - Narcos, I did start watching it when it first came out but for some reason I got sidetracked. So I’m back into it. Wasting - A lot of time hanging out on my balcony watching the foot traffic in my neighbourhood.
Sewing - Nothing! Though I inherited my Nonna’s sewing machine last year and have been wanting to relearn how to sew.
Wishing - I could travel… don’t we all?
Enjoying - The spring-like weather (even though it’s still technically winter!).
Waiting - For two orders to arrive - some clothes I’ve purchased and a friend’s birthday gift.
Liking - My new flat, it really is comfortable and starting to become just the way I want it.
Wondering - What the 2020 Queensland election will bring in October.
Loving - That we had a long weekend. Normally at this time of year we’d have the Ekka (Brisbane Show Day) public holiday on a Wednesday, but since Ekka has been cancelled they moved it to Friday and gave us a long weekend. Hoping - I’ll get over this sickness soon.
Needing - Air-conditioning… it’s starting to warm up to the mid-20s this week, so thinking I probably need to move shortly on getting it installed.
Smelling - Crisp fresh air.
Wearing - Lots of jeans and t-shirts! Because work from home lyfe.
Following - Rebel Wilson’s Instagram account, I can’t believe how great she looks after doing the hard work in her ‘Year of Health’.
Noticing - How much harder it is to catch-up with old friends now they have children. Not a criticism, just life is changing.
Knowing - This too shall pass. E.g. friends being hard to catch-up with, not being able to travel interstate or internationally.
Thinking - Of starting my own Meet Up group that incorporate all the specific things I like to do… but have to overcome my procrastination on the topic.
Feeling - A bit run down.
Bookmarking - Lots of clothing that sits in my online cart until they’re no longer available, including face masks as they may be part of the normal way to travel in the future.
Opening - My mind to the possibility of not being able to travel internationally for more than just year.
Giggling - At this marketing tactic for Narcos:
Feeling - Glad that Queensland is not in stage 3/4 lock down and that I still have a job. Thinking of you during this difficult time, Victoria.
